fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment spf 15 - 4 out of 5 stars

I just got back from a long trip to Guam and while on the 18 hours of flights, I read many, many magazines and beauty articles. Every beauty editor is raving about the fresh Sugar Plum tinted lip treatment. As soon as I got back to the mainland, I ran to Sephora to see first hand what this craze is about.

I'll give it to fresh - I like their packaging and the scent. As you can tell by the picture above, you need to twist it to open it - it doesn't just snap on like most lipsticks. ME LIKEY! This means it doesn't open on its own and write all over the bottom of your Louis Vuitton bag. :)

The smell is definitely yummy, just like the Rose lip treatment. Very subtle, not too strong, sweet...like cherry chapstick. Pleasant. Inviting. It does make you want to put it on over and over.

As for the color - don't let the dark tone fool you. It is extremely sheer...so sheer, in fact, that I had to put it on several times to get the color to appear. The color is a nice sheer plum - not pinkish, but definitely purplish/brownish. I still think it would look great on all skin tones - you would just adjust how much you put on to get it to look good for you.

All of that being said, I'm not sure it's the absolute best moisturizing treatment out there. Granted, it has an SPF, and so you trade sun coverage for moisture. I'd personally rather have the SPF and keep applying for moisture, especially if it's as yummy as this lip treatment. At $22.50, it's a bit pricey, but a great fall staple. And trust me - you will use it all!
